writing life

Stop and Look

I’m taking a day to step back and look at the big picture of what type stories I write and what I want to write.  Where do I want to be in five years?

Sometimes, it’s good to take a hard look at what is on your hard drive.  What stories grabbed you enough to get to a final draft?  Any patterns in what you’re writing?  Any logical next steps?  Any logical markets for these?

It’s hard to be objective, because I still LOVE some of the stories I’ve worked on.  But I’m questioning the commercial possibilities for some.  And that’s good.  Looking at the overall picture of my writing will help focus what I do next.
