Fall and such

I am thinking about what I want to post about this fall (well, school started, so it’s “fall” for me) and I thought I’d ask what you want.

I am going to study character this fall, especially reading two specific books which have many exercises.  I expect you’ll hear about some of those.  Would you like to follow along with the reading?

I keep getting search requests for something on cover letters.

I’m also considering posting some observations about the current state of the children’s publishing business–a very opinionated view.

Any preferences?  Anything else you’d like to see?  Email me or post a comment and I’ll try to work it in this fall.

  2. I always look forward to reading your posts; no matter what the topic, I learn something new. Thank you so much for sharing your insights with us!

Yes, I’d love to follow along with your reading about character development. Also, I’m wondering if you would be willing to share your secrets for incorporating character, conflict, plot, etc. into a synopsis that’s interesting but not overlong.

  3. Yes! I’d like to follow along with the reading.
[I just dusted off Creating Characters Kids Will Love, hoping that might be one of the books ;o) ]

I’d like to learn about/discuss creating an engaging plot and throughline for your characters especially with exercises on plot development, in conjuction with character exercises.
