Stay Focused on Revision

The October issue of the Real Simple magazine reports:

When you stop what you’re doing to answer an e-mail, it takes an average of 15 minutes to return to the first task and 10 minutes more to get back to the concentration level you had before the interruption.

25 minutes! Just to answer a lousy email.
Now I know why I’m not getting anything done. I’ve got to give email it’s own time slot and writing it’s own time slot and NOT check email until the day’s writing is done!
