I’ve been doing lots of reading this week and here are some gems.
- Ever wonder what high concept means to an agent? Elana Roth of Caren Johnson Literary explains. If you like what she says, she’ll be at the Missouri SCBWI conference on November 9.
- Which would you rather do? Sell a novel on a proposal, sell a two book contract, or write on spec?
- From SPOGG, take the 1895 8th-grade grammar test. While you’re at it, check out Martha Brockenbrough’s new book, Things That Make Us [Sic]. It’s a laugh-out-loud funny look at grammar mistakes in today’s email world.
- Time to study? Besides my online Novel Revision Workshop, you can also take online classes with Anastasia Suen. If you write nonfiction, check out Laura Purdie Salas’ online workshops.
